Job Summary
School Health Aide operates under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide delegated student health care services in the School Health Program. Responsibilities include performing non-licensed, competency-tested tasks, administering medications per protocol, handling and documenting medications and supplies, providing first aid and injury care, assisting with diabetes management, allergy/asthma/seizure management, conducting COVID-19 and flu tests with parental consent, and floating to other school locations as needed. Must maintain infection control procedures, document care in electronic health files, and participate in emergency duties as assigned. Requires access to reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Unlicensed Assistive Personnel
- supervision by Registered Nurse
- ability to administer medications with parental consent or as delegated
- competency testing after training
- float to other school locations as needed
