Job Summary
Perform general building and property maintenance, completing minor repairs including painting, carpentry, basic plumbing, and general handyman work. Maintain classrooms, offices, playgrounds, and outdoor areas by landscaping, pressure washing, and cleaning assigned work areas. Safely operate hand and power tools while assembling furniture and equipment, and complete maintenance logs and reports in English. Follow all school safety procedures, CDC recommendations, and Florida DCF regulations, including working safely around young children. Full-time role with flexible hours; requires FDLE Level II background screening and Florida DCF 45-Hour Child Care Training Certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Experience in general maintenance, facilities, construction, or handyman work
- Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general repair techniques
- Basic knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, landscaping, and facility maintenance
- Ability to read and understand basic English for manuals, labels, and safety instructions
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work safely around young children and follow all safety procedures
- Successful completion of an FDLE Level II Background Screening
- Possession or ability to obtain the Florida DCF 45-Hour Child Care Training Certification within 30 days of hire
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Flexible work schedule
