Job Summary
Provide academic, social-emotional, and career counseling to students on an assigned caseload at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School for the 2026–2027 school year. Responsibilities include managing student schedules, monitoring progress toward graduation, identifying at-risk students and coordinating interventions, communicating with families, facilitating 504/intervention/transition planning meetings, and participating in Academic/Vocational and Attendance Intervention meetings. Deliver social-emotional counseling and crisis intervention, refer students to outside agencies as needed, guide postsecondary planning (college, workforce, apprenticeships), support Naviance and MyCAP implementation, and collaborate with teachers, vocational instructors, administrators, and support staff. Assist with shop placement and exploratory process, maintain accurate student records, use data to inform interventions, ensure DESE and district compliance, and support data-driven outcomes. Salary range $68,955–$112,633 commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Guidance Counselor or School Adjustment Counselor
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
- Knowledge of college and career readiness frameworks (e.g., MyCAP, MASCA)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to support diverse learners in a technical high school setting
