School Finance Director

Oversees district financial management and administration, planning and directing the receipt, disbursement and accounting of district revenues and expenditures, managing investments, and assisting the Superintendent in preparing the annual budget. Supervises professional, technical and clerical staff; ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations; analyzes financial data for leadership decision making; maintains payroll systems and procurement procedures; and coordinates audits and the preparation of the comprehensive annual financial report. Requires a bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting (15 accounting hours) and at least five years of finance operations experience; North Carolina School Finance Officer certification is required by the State Board of Education. Master of Public Administration or CPA license is preferred; NCASBO School Business Director Academy graduation is preferred.
