Job Summary

District School Psychologist responsible for psychoeducational evaluations, intervention planning and counseling, consultation with teachers, administrators, and parents, crisis management, participation in IEP and other school-wide planning, maintaining confidentiality, and ongoing professional development to support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in School Psychology from NASP-approved program (or equivalent) including a 1,200-hour advanced practicum with at least 600 hours in a school setting
  • School Psychologist license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
  • Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in a diverse school setting preferred
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations pertaining to special education and student rights
  • Background check and fingerprinting as required by state regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to lift, move, or assist students when necessary
  • Completion of any required professional development or certifications as mandated by the District
