Job Summary
School Custodian responsible for cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas; perform light maintenance (changing bulbs, reporting issues), assist with receiving deliveries and event setup, and support groundskeeping including snow removal. The role requires safe operation of cleaning equipment, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and collaboration with school staff to maintain a clean, safe, welcoming environment across multiple Elm City campuses. Evening or daytime shifts may be required depending on school needs; EMT-style safety and teamwork mindset encouraged. Must be able to work in a school setting and support activities across ECS campuses.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior custodial, facilities, or building maintenance experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Valid CT driver’s license or reliable transportation
