Job Summary
Custodian responsible for routine cleaning and basic maintenance in a school setting. Receives general direction from the Director of Business Services. Performs cleaning tasks (sweeping, dusting, mopping, scrubbing, sealing, buffing, washing rooms and surfaces, vacuuming) and basic grounds maintenance. Moves and arranges furniture, assists with snow/ice removal, manages work orders and repairs, maintains filing systems, handles logistics for events/activities, and may supervise students during activities. Supports Glenwood Academy’s mission and completes other duties as assigned. Requires ability to lift at least 65 pounds, and typically requires a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years experience
- Ability to pick up and carry at minimum 65 pounds
- Stamina for physical activity including extensive walking, stooping, pushing, carrying, climbing, bending and lifting
- Availability to respond to emergency calls
- Experience in school/educational environment preferred
