School Custodial Technician I

Conduct routine general cleaning and housekeeping of school buildings, facilities, furniture, and equipment, including striping, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, and polishing hard floors. Operate and maintain powered cleaning machinery such as floor scrubbers, buffing machines, and carpet extractors while performing minor repairs like replacing light bulbs and adjusting fixtures. Manage grounds maintenance by using power blowers and pressure washers, trimming hedges, and picking up trash. Perform biomedical cleaning for blood spills and pest infestations, empty waste baskets, and assist in setting up materials for school events. Ensure building security by locking doors and coding alarms, and report suspicious activity to safety officers. Maintain readiness for emergency support during City Shelter operations and adhere to lockdown protocols.
