School Crossing Patrol Officer

Job Summary
As a School Crossing Patrol Officer, you will help keep the community safe by ensuring children and other pedestrians cross the road safely at a designated point between specified times. The role operates part-time, term-time (38 weeks per year), with duties mainly at school opening and closing times (08:20–09:15 and 14:50–15:25), and includes attending patrol points daily in all weather. Training in safe crossing procedures is provided, PVG scheme membership is required, and an induction will be held before starting. The position is permanent and salary is pro-rata with a local government living wage and additional payments for shift work. Required Qualifications
- No formal qualifications required
- Ability to cope in all weather conditions
- Good road sense
- Knowledge of the Highway Code/Green Cross Code
- Experience of working with children desirable
