Job Summary
Assess students' mental health needs, develop treatment recommendations, and provide tiered support services using evidence-based practices. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions, including intakes and assessments, while performing crisis intervention and managing outside referrals. Collaborate with students, teachers, and parents to create strength-based treatment plans and facilitate social emotional learning curricula and preventive programs. Provide consultation to instructional and administrative staff regarding social emotional learning, mental health, and academic difficulties. Plan and lead professional development workshops, maintain confidential case notes, and establish positive relationships with families through ongoing progress communication. Participate in whole school events and committees while adhering to ethical standards and diverse population best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling services
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with children and adults
- NJ School counseling standard certificate
