Job Summary
Provide counseling and guidance services to promote student success through a comprehensive school counseling program. Responsibilities include planning and implementing counseling strategies for academic achievement, career planning, and personal/social development. Counsel individuals and groups of students, facilitate parent education programs, advocate for students' educational opportunities, and maintain accurate student records. Collaborate with school personnel and community programs to address the diverse needs of students. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in relevant fields, valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential, and experience in educational settings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in counseling, psychology, social work or related field
- A Master’s degree in school counseling
- Valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with School Counseling authorization
- Complete District’s training on universal precautions
- Valid California Driver’s License, if applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with children or in an educational setting
- Teaching experience as a fully-credentialed teacher preferred
