Job Summary
School Counselor for Minnesota Connections Academy, a tuition-free online charter serving Minnesota K-12 students. Working from a home office, the counselor will advise students and families on academics, course selection, graduation requirements, and college readiness, coordinate with the Manager of Counseling Services to establish counseling processes for middle/high school, maintain transcripts and records, develop four-year plans, support crisis prevention and student well-being, collaborate with school teams to connect families with resources, and assist with college admissions preparation and testing (SAT/ACT). Additional duties include coordinating with teachers, supporting AP and college entrance programs, and participating in graduation activities, while complying with state requirements and maintaining professional development. Requires Minnesota School Counseling certification and strong tech skills; occasional travel for events may be necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minnesota certification in School Counseling
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office)
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Customer focused approach
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- High degree of flexibility
- Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
- Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel)
