Job Summary
School Counselor responsibilities include implementing a school counseling program per Tennessee guidelines, providing preventive and developmental counseling for students' social, emotional, and physical development, aiding academic development through interpretation of test scores and early problem identification, acting as a consultant to teachers and parents, identifying and placing students academically, reporting suspected child health/ welfare concerns, addressing threats to self or others, upholding the District ethics, collaborating with behavior support for student success, reducing discipline problems through peer understanding, improving attendance and retention via early prevention, aiding in reducing juvenile delinquency through early intervention, supporting career development and self-awareness at the elementary level, providing a listening resource, and contributing to program effectiveness and district goals; requires Master’s Degree and valid Tennessee teaching license, with the job operating under Exempt/FLSA status and potential vehicle use in district duties; 30 days’ notice of resignation and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with proper area of endorsement
