Job Summary
Counselor position in a Denver Public Schools temporary role providing ASCA-aligned counseling services via classroom guidance, small groups, and individual sessions; uses data to inform and improve programs; supports student transitions from early childhood to middle school; counsels students on academic, personal/social, and career-readiness issues and guides course/program selection, school adjustment, study habits, attendance, college and career planning; maintains accurate student records; observes and discusses student progress with parents, teachers, and administrators; conducts crisis intervention when needed and helps connect families with mental health resources; collaborates with staff to enhance school climate and supports equity and access to high-quality education. Requirements include a Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Psychology, or related field and a current Colorado Special Service Provider license for School Counselor, with residence in Colorado.
