Job Summary
Provides personal and social growth counseling, including individual and group counseling to support academic success and student development; conducts crisis intervention services (e.g., suicide prevention, child abuse, health concerns, substance use); communicates with parents and teachers to coordinate interventions and referrals; maintains confidential student records and uses data to guide interventions and program improvements; delivers career counseling and guidance on higher education opportunities; collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team and uses district policies and state/national guidance to inform practice; stays current with technology used in guidance services and participates in training to meet job requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from an accredited college or university
- Certification or eligible for certification by the Florida State Department of Education to teach in the State of Florida
- Valid Florida driver’s License
