Job Summary
Virtual School Counselor position based in Florida, delivering counseling and support services to students and families remotely from a home office. Responsibilities include advising on academics and career planning, implementing individual and small group counseling, coordinating with school teams to connect families with resources, developing crisis prevention and incident reporting plans, facilitating smooth enrollment transitions, and supporting teachers and school staff. The role requires Florida Professional Teacher Certification in Guidance and Counseling, ESOL certification/endorsement, strong technology skills, excellent communication, reliability, and the ability to travel within the state for testing administration and occasional in-person events. Travel across the state and occasional evening hours may be required; location is within Florida with remote work capability.
Required Qualifications
- Florida Professional Teacher Certification in Guidance and Counseling
- ESOL Certification or Endorsement
- Strong knowledge of Florida graduation requirements (preferred)
- Knowledge of RtI/MTSS
- Strong technology skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Customer focused approach
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- High degree of flexibility
- Team player with demonstrated leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast-paced environment
- Travel across the state is required for state testing administration and may require overnight stays
- Access to reliable transportation for face-to-face events
- Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families
