Job Summary
Develop and deliver a comprehensive elementary school counseling program aligned with the ASCA model. Provide academic, social-emotional, and career development guidance through classroom lessons, individual, and group counseling; lead data-driven program planning, crisis response, and collaboration with administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners. Coordinate college-planning support and college-visit activities, maintain confidential student records, and support students’ post-secondary goals within a 10-month, 195-day school calendar at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School. Requires Master’s in School Counseling and Virginia PPS license eligibility with endorsement. Licensure and professional collaboration are essential, with responsibilities including program development, instructional delivery, and crisis intervention across the student support team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Master’s Degree in School Counseling
- Virginia Department of Education Pupil Personnel Services License with School Counselor endorsement or eligibility to obtain PPS License
- Experience in school counseling preferred
- Data-driven and collaborative program development experience
- Crisis response and mental health referral knowledge
- Able to deliver curriculum and individual/group counseling
- Familiarity with ASCA national model
- Clearance requirements: background check, TB test, adherence to health protocols
