Job Summary
Guidance Counselor responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive school guidance program, providing individual, small- and large-group counseling, crisis intervention, and academic/personal support. Maintains confidential student records, plans and administers the department budget, coordinates events, and collaborates with administrators, parents, nurses, teachers, school psychologists, and outside providers. Exercises crisis intervention and contributes to staff development, training, and interpretation of guidance services to students, families, and the community. Requires a Bachelor's degree in education and eligibility for South Carolina school guidance counselor certification. Prior teaching experience is desirable. 190-day exemption, support to help students achieve academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being.
