Job Summary
Counsellor sought to provide direct therapeutic support for children and young people within school settings, delivering counselling and emotional wellbeing support, collaborating with SENCOs, pastoral teams, families and multidisciplinary professionals, maintaining accurate clinical records, contributing to safeguarding and wellbeing planning, and participating in supervision, CPD and team meetings. The role involves working directly in schools to support pupils with emotional, behavioural, social and mental health needs, including those with neurodivergent-related needs, trauma and school avoidance, and requires a recognised counselling qualification and BABCP registration. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential, with a commitment to inclusive, child-centred practice. Required Qualifications
- Recognised counselling qualification
- Registration with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP)
- Experience working with children and young people
