Job Summary
Plan and create balanced, nutritious weekly menus accommodating food allergies and dietary restrictions. Prepare and serve healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks for students and staff while maintaining strict food safety, sanitation, and temperature standards. Monitor food inventory, place supply orders within budget, and receive/inspect deliveries. Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and preparation areas in accordance with local health department regulations. Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure a positive dining experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook, school cook, cafeteria cook, or in food service preferred
- Experience planning menus and managing food inventory is highly preferred
- Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain one) preferred
