Job Summary
Provide professional nursing services in a school clinic during the absence of the assigned school nurse, including clinical assessment, medication administration, and coordination of care while maintaining confidentiality. Perform health assessments, administer medications per physician orders and school protocols, respond to illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies, and maintain accurate documentation. Ensure FERPA-compliant confidentiality and communicate effectively with school administrators, staff, and district nursing leadership. Adhere to CCSD policies, procedures, and emergency protocols and report concerns promptly. Requires an active RN license (GA or Nurse Licensure Compact), CPR certification, ADN or BSN, and completion of CCSD clinic substitute orientation and required training. Scheduling is as-needed, with full school-day assignments and potential early start or after-school coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (Georgia or Nurse Licensure Compact)
- CPR certification
- Education: ADN or BSN from an accredited program
- Fingerprint-based background check
- Completion of CCSD clinic substitute orientation and required training
- Coordinated clinical care and medication administration in school clinic setting
- Confidentiality and FERPA compliance
- Work under supervision of school principal and District School Nurse Administrator
- As-needed, temporary assignments with full school-day schedules (about seven hours)
