Job Summary
School Caseworker for the City Connects Program in Poughkeepsie City School District. Responsible for delivering preventive services and case management to students and families, coordinating with schools and community resources, advocating for services, maintaining case records, and supporting at-risk youth to improve school outcomes. Requires formal education in social services (Master's in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field, or a Bachelor's with relevant experience), strong counseling/interviewing skills, knowledge of welfare laws, ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders (families, schools, community agencies), travel as part of the role, and eligibility for driving responsibilities. Evening and non-standard hours may be expected.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field OR Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field with one year of responsible youth counseling experience OR equivalent combination of training and experience
- Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
