Job Summary
Proactively recruit individuals to apply and train them to become School Bus Drivers. Provide classroom instruction and behind-the wheel training for applicants and bus drivers, administer random and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, and conduct regular safety meetings. Assume primary responsibility for investigating personal injuries and vehicle accidents by preparing on-scene reports. Drive a school bus on designated routes while performing ongoing performance evaluations. Investigate customer service complaints related to safety issues and take appropriate corrective action. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations to maintain a safe transportation environment for students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a school bus driver
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to train and evaluate school bus driver
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to student transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement
- State based trainer certification
Desired Qualifications
- First Aid/CPR Certification (preferred)
