Job Summary
Recruit and train new and existing school bus drivers through classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel sessions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Conduct ongoing performance evaluations, administer random and pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, and lead regularly scheduled safety meetings. Investigate personal injury and vehicle accidents by performing on-scene investigations and submitting reports to corporate office. Address customer service complaints related to safety issues and take appropriate corrective action. Drive a school bus on designated routes while maintaining a safe transportation environment for students. Requires a valid CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, three years of school bus driving experience, and trainer certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a school bus driver
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to train and evaluate school bus driver
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to student transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement
- State based trainer certification
