Job Summary
Drive a school bus on designated routes and proactively recruit individuals to apply and train them to become School Bus Drivers. Provide classroom instruction and behind-the wheel training for applicants and bus drivers, administer random drug/alcohol testing programs, and develop regularly scheduled safety meetings. Assume primary responsibility for investigating personal injuries and vehicle accidents by preparing reports to the corporate office, while investigating customer service complaints relative to safety issues and taking corrective action. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations to maintain a safe transportation environment for students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a school bus driver
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to operate company vehicles
- Possess all valid applicable state licenses and other required certifications to train and evaluate school bus driver
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations related to student transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsement
- Valid CA School Bus Driver Certificate-DL45 (required)
- Valid CA Trainer Certification (required)
Desired Qualifications
