Job Summary
Primary responsibility is to safely transport passengers on school bus routes, including those with manual and automatic transmissions. Drives a regular route as a regular, spare, or charter driver; conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections; assists students with loading/unloading and wheelchair lifts; maintains safety and communicates with school personnel, parents, and students; attends safety trainings; conducts emergency evacuations; cleans the bus interior and exterior; performs other duties as required by contract; ability to learn route sheets/electronic routing devices; supports student management and safety protocols throughout the shift.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Operator’s license with required endorsements & other state or local permits as required
- Good verbal communication skills
- The ability to work early morning hours
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Dress in a professional and appropriate manner for a business environment
- Perform all job functions in the safest manner adhering to OSHA guidelines & other applicable Federal & State laws
- Ability to use or learn to use internet, additional programs as required and office equipment, including fax and phones or other electronic devices
