Job Summary
Part-Time School Bus Driver in St. Thomas, ON. Safely transport students on assigned routes with a set schedule for the 2026/2027 school year; perform pre- and post-trip inspections; maintain cleanliness of the bus; complete daily Hours of Service reports; report mechanical issues; address student behavior per procedures; participate in ongoing training; unionized role; requires G-class license (or higher), 21+ years old, clean driving record, and Vulnerable Sector Screening; routes include Part-Time and Route Support with various vehicle types; shifts approximately 6:00am–9:15am and 1:00pm–4:30pm; knowledge of St. Thomas and surroundings; ability to work independently; strong communication; comfort around children; weather and road condition tolerance; basic computer/GPS skills; company offers benefits and accommodations per recruitment process.
Required Qualifications
- Valid minimum G class driver’s license for at least 1 year (Preference given to E or B class)
- 21 years of age or older
- Safe driver with a clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a clean criminal record search with vulnerable sector screening
- Sound knowledge of St. Thomas and surrounding areas
- Ability to work independently
- Available for required shifts (weekdays mornings and afternoons)
- Solid communication skills
- Comfort around children of all ages
- Comfort driving in all weather and road conditions
- Comfortable driving large vehicles
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate Google Maps or GPS
