School Bus Driver (Part Time)

Job Summary
Drive district students to and from school activities in a safe, orderly manner. Maintain passenger safety and discipline, perform basic/mechanical checks and minor repairs as needed, comply with DOT physicals and Drug/Alcohol Testing, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to support a positive school environment. This district-wide role requires a valid NJ CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, a HS diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years of safe driving experience plus three years of operating a school or commercial bus.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid New Jersey CDL with passenger and school bus endorsement
- Minimum of two years of previous safe driving experience
- Minimum of three years' experience operating a school or commercial bus
- Sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems and make repairs
- Demonstrate ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure safety and well-being
- Compliance with DOT physical examination and Drug and Alcohol Testing requirements
- Health adequate to fulfill job functions with reasonable accommodation per NJ rules
- Interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and community
- Effective oral and written communication
