Job Summary
Conduct daily diagnostic inspections of assigned school buses, disinfect and sterilize vehicles, and report any malfunctions on provided forms. Safely and lawfully operate a bus in inclement weather, heavy traffic, and precise maneuvering situations, including maneuvering students in wheelchairs when assigned to the Special Education Bus. Maintain discipline on the bus and cope with student behavior in a mature and corrective manner while following oral and written instructions to maintain time schedules and make clear, legible records. Participate in position-related trainings to support management of the bus and improve skills regarding transportation rules, regulations, student services, and district policy. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, staff members, students, and the general public. The Estacada School District offers a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a guaranteed minimum of 25 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- appropriate commercial driver's license
- ability to obtain CDL permit within 2 weeks of hire
- Skill in safely and lawfully operating a bus
- driving proficiency ability to exercise judgment associated with the operation of a bus in inclement weather, heavy traffic, and precise maneuvering situations
- Ability to maintain discipline on a school bus
- ability to cope with student behavior in a mature and corrective manner
- Ability to make a thorough and meticulous daily inspection of assigned bus
- ability to report any malfunction on provided forms
- ability to maintain safety standards of assigned bus

- Possess valid Oregon Driver's License

- Successful passage of a physical examination
