Job Summary
Assist students with boarding, exiting, and seating while ensuring seatbelts and harnesses are properly secured. Monitor student behavior, intervene as needed, and provide support for those with special needs using safety equipment like wheelchair lifts. Communicate with drivers regarding medical issues or safety concerns and document incidents per policy. Perform basic cleaning tasks, participate in first aid and CPR training, and assist during emergency evacuations. Maintain confidentiality of student records and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to physically assist students in and out of the bus, including lifting when necessary
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience working with children, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable
