Job Summary
Provide direct support to students with emotional and behavioral needs in Emotional Support Classrooms. Serve as the monitor during crisis situations and utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors while promoting student safety. Work collaboratively with teachers, aides, and behavioral staff to support daily routines, academics, transitions, and behavioral goals. Maintain safety for students and staff throughout the school year. This role covers local school district needs in Lackawanna County for the 2026-2027 school year. Verbal and Physical De-Escalation Training will be provided.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma or Equivalent
- minimum of one (1) year working with children or young adults with behavioral, emotional, and/or personal care needs
- ability to remain calm and take initiative during high-stress situations
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- ability to commit to one full school year
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
