Job Summary
Conduct homework assistance in one-on-one and small group settings while managing classroom supervision and implementing engaging age-appropriate lesson plans. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff through effective communication and problem-solving. Maintain documentation for progress reports and attendance, and assist with center transportation plans as needed. Work independently within a team environment to foster a safe, supportive learning space for children aged 6 weeks to 14 years. This role supports Horizon's mission to provide high-quality early childhood education across Cleveland, Elyria, Lorain, North Olmsted, Berea, Parma, and Lakewood. Full-time positions at Eastern Heights Recreation Center include hours from 1:45pm to 5:15pm Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.
- Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening

- Experience in a classroom setting and with children
- Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
- Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
