Job Summary
School-Based Psychologist employed in a hybrid, contract-based role delivering psychological services in a school setting. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments and evaluations to determine cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs; collaborating with educators, families, and school staff to develop and implement IEPs and BIPs; providing counseling and interventions to support students' mental health; participating in multidisciplinary teams; offering consultation and training to school personnel; promoting positive mental health through prevention programs and crisis intervention; maintaining confidential records in accordance with state and federal regulations. The position combines remote services with periodic on-site visits (approx. 2-4 times per year, 2-3 weeks per visit) with travel expenses covered. Licensure in Alaska or eligibility for licensure with an Alaska Type C Special Services Certificate is required. This role emphasizes evaluation, consultation, intervention, and prevention services to support students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral well-being, and entails collaboration with district teams across the school year.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved/accredited program
- Valid state license or state department of education certification (as needed) as a School Psychologist
- Educator Certificate (if applicable)
