Job Summary
Conduct school-based health services across multiple locations to promote wellness, disease prevention, and early detection of health problems interfering with learning. Perform initial assessments, interventions, and evaluations for students and staff regarding illness or injury, while maintaining first aid stations and preventing communicable diseases. Assist with special education needs, vision screenings, and medication logbook reviews, ensuring adherence to district policies on abuse investigations and confidentiality. Document all visits in Infinite Campus or IMS, conduct quality control evaluations on laboratory equipment, and participate in committee meetings regarding health services and curriculum. Travel to various school sites to provide seamless coverage during staff shortages or absences, adapting quickly to diverse environments and working with physicians, administrators, and diverse teams to maintain operational continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Has demonstrated the ability to work effectively with health agencies, professionals and children.
- Willing to provide services outlined in the Kentucky Department of Education Health Services Reference Guide.
- Current CPR certification.
- Maintains require continuing education courses.
- Travel to different school locations as assigned, which may include different cities or towns.
- Adapt quickly to new school environments, work cultures, and patient care practices in each location.
- Provide seamless coverage during staff shortages or vacation periods, ensuring that all clinical areas are properly staffed and operational.
- Work with diverse healthcare teams, including physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
- Maintain effective communication with clinic managers and healthcare providers at each location to ensure a cohesive approach to patient care.
