Job Summary
Monitor the school complex by walking the facility, observing students and staff, and reporting unauthorized personnel to the office. Identify safety violations, diffuse situations among students, and reinforce positive social behavior to ensure campus safety. Perform minor housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks to maintain a litter-free environment. This one-hour daily shift requires a high school diploma or GED, valid Arizona DPS fingerprint clearance, and Crossing Guard training. Knowledge of basic safety principles and customer service is essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to complete Crossing Guard training
- Valid Department of Public Safety (DPS) Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (FPCC)
- Knowledge of basic safety and security principles, practices, equipment, and procedures
- Knowledge of customer service principles
- Skill in recognizing potential security risks
- Skill in providing customer service
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
- Ability to reach, have finger dexterity, and grasping ability
- Ability to talk, hear, and see
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
