Job Summary
Lead school-age childcare activities at assigned sites by assisting group leaders and the Site Coordinator in delivering programs that meet YMCA quality standards. Ensure the safety and security of children while responding to their individual physical and emotional needs. Maintain indoor program spaces, support special events, and foster positive relationships with children, parents, and school personnel. Adhere to safety protocols, manage high-risk activities, and report any suspicious behaviors or policy violations immediately. Attend all required meetings, trainings, and supplemental programs during the school year, including school vacations. Be prepared to transfer locations as needed and perform other duties assigned by the Program Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
- A program assistant in a school-age program shall be at least 15 years of age
- Maintain current medical health form
- The form must be on file at YMCA within 60 days of hire date
- Screening must have been conducted within 12 months of date of hire
- Screening must be renewed every three years
- Agree to be fingerprinted for FBI and state criminal background checks if 18 years of age or older
- Handles self in a professional manner

- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements
