Job Summary
The Program Coordinator provides leadership and direction to before and after school sites within the YMCA, supporting community youth development. Responsibilities include overseeing staff recruitment, scheduling, training, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with state childcare regulations, and maintaining high program standards through site visits. The role demands strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, the ability to supervise and support site directors, and ensure program quality. Candidates must be 20+ years old with an appropriate degree or equivalent experience, hold necessary certifications, and be committed to upholding the YMCA's core values.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 20+ years old.
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or recreation awarded by a regionally accredited college or university.
- Associate’s degree in early childhood education awarded by a regionally accredited college or university.
- Certification of successful completion of training as a Recreation Director PLUS 1,000 hours experience working with children.
- 12 credits in early childhood education, human growth and development, education or recreation; PLUS 1,000 hours of experience working with children.
- Current certification as an educator by the NH Department of Education.
- Experience working with children totaling 2,000 hours with documentation of enrollment in a course for at least 3 credits.
- Fingerprinting for FBI and state criminal background checks.
- CPR and First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 30 days.
Additional Requirements
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 30 days.
- Must maintain current medical health form within 60 days of hire date. Screening to be renewed every three years.
