Job Summary
Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with learning foundations and children's interests while creating intentional, enriched, and supportive learning environments. Facilitate age-appropriate activities for children from infants through 13 years old, promoting social and emotional development and ensuring consistent supervision in safe indoor and outdoor settings. Build authentic, culturally responsive relationships with children, families, and team members while maintaining safe emotional and physical environments. Conduct visual inspections to identify hazards, implement preventative safety measures, and report health or safety concerns. Supervise off-site activities and field trips as required, adapting to children's physical levels by sitting, kneeling, or squatting during activities.
Required Qualifications
- 24 semester units (or equivalent quarter units) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field with passing grades, plus required general education units
- Associates degree or higher in ECE, Child Development, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Valid Teacher Permit or higher issued by the appropriate credentialing authority
- Two years of experience in a group care or teaching environment with a consistent age group
- One year of experience supervising adults or equivalent supervision coursework
- Strong classroom management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Effective organization, time management, and curriculum documentation abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment
- Be physically and mentally capable of meeting the needs of children up to 13 years of age
- Follow safety guidelines, report health or safety concerns, and remain calm during emergencies or first-aid situations
- Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including weather conditions that are safe for children
- Conduct visual inspections to identify hazards and implement preventative safety measures
- Tolerate occasional loud noise during activities
- Perform frequent bending, lifting, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling
- Lift and carry materials up to 15 lbs. individually or with assistance
- Navigate playground equipment, uneven terrain, and varied surfaces
- Adapt to childrens physical levels by sitting, kneeling, or squatting during activities
- Supervise off-site activities and field trips as required
Desired Qualifications
- Adult and infant/child CPR & First Aid certification
- Bilingual or multilingual skills based on program needs
