Job Summary

Assistant Director – School Age Program will assist the School Age Program Director in managing program operations, ensuring compliance with Department of Early Education and Care requirements, health and safety regulations, and licensing, while developing an inclusive STEM-focused curriculum for multi-site after school and summer camp programs. The role oversees staff scheduling and evaluations, staff development, budgeting and petty cash, parent communication, family engagement, and coordination with Site Coordinators to maintain safe, welcoming environments and appropriate student-to-teacher ratios. It includes duties such as maintaining licensing records, pursuing grant-related items, facilitating monthly center meetings, and ensuring equal learning opportunities for all students, including those from marginalized or underrepresented groups. Required skills include First Aid/CPR, strong communication, problem-solving, ability to work with diverse families, and reliable transportation; education experience with elementary-aged students is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • First Aid and CPR certification required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with families and children of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Has reliable transportation and is able to pick up and deliver program materials to sites at least weekly
  • Must have at least one year of previous experience working with elementary school aged students
  • Bachelor's degree in education preferred but not required
