Job Summary
Adhere to program standards for safety, cleanliness, and child abuse prevention while facilitating gym games, arts and crafts, and homework assistance for school-age participants. Maintain positive relations with parents and colleagues, model relationship-building skills, and ensure confidentiality of all records. Attend staff meetings and trainings, follow YMCA policies for medical and disciplinary situations, and remain flexible for schedule changes or full-day camp rotations. Work under direct supervision to implement core values of respect, responsibility, honesty, and caring.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 16 years old
- Ability to work well on a team
- Ability to communicate easily with youth, parents and colleagues
- Knowledge of age-appropriate practices
- Experience working with children, preferably school aged
- Maturity to make practical decisions under the direct supervision of other staff
