Job Summary
Prepare and deliver engaging 45–60 minute enrichment sessions for school-age children covering topics such as arts, STEM, fitness, and culture. Lead activities and discussions to promote hands-on learning while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment aligned with YMCA values. Organize instructional materials, set up spaces, and clean up after each session to ensure smooth program operations. Monitor child behavior, enforce program rules, and respond promptly to issues to guarantee a secure activity space. Communicate schedule updates and supply needs with childcare staff and the School-Age Child Care Director. Follow abuse prevention policies, including mandated reporting and high-risk area monitoring. Travel between various program locations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Reliable transportation to attend various SACC program locations
- Ability to follow program policies and maintain a safe learning environment
Desired Qualifications
- Past experience teaching subject matter preferred
- Adequate knowledge of the subject being presented
- Ability to engage and manage groups of children in a fun, positive way
- Demonstrated creativity and flexibility in lesson delivery
