Job Summary
School Age Site Supervisors and Educators in Chatham: Plan and deliver a consistent, child-centered program for elementary-age children (morning 7:15am–9:00am; afternoon 2:30pm–6:00pm, with PD Days/breaks as needed), ensure supervision and safety at all times, implement YMCA curriculum, support families, promote diversity, equity and inclusion, embody YMCA core values, and participate in a caring, professional team. Roles require pursuing or holding an Early Childhood Education diploma (or related degree) with CECE registration in good standing for graduates, valid First Aid/CPR Level C, eligibility for Vulnerable Sector Check, immunizations per public health requirements, ability to lift up to 20 kg, and availability for multiple shifts while adhering to the elementary-school calendar. The position is contract-based (through June 26, 2026) with compensation dependent on region and qualifications, and includes benefits such as YMCA membership and paid time off in accordance with regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children 4-12 years in a work or school placement setting is an asset
- Plans to enroll, or in current pursuit of a diploma in Early Childhood Education, or in pursuit or holds a diploma or a degree in a related field of study is an asset
- Early Childhood Education graduates must be registered (or proof that registration is in process) and in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Graduates in a related field of study must be members of their associations as required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months
- Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older to obtain a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check
- Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCASWO
- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping
