Job Summary
Implement a comprehensive School Age Program for children ages 5-12 under the Site Director's supervision, fostering an environment conducive to enjoyment, relaxation, and socialization. Actively participate in bi-weekly curriculum planning meetings to implement individualized recommendations and maintain necessary records including attendance sheets and anecdotal notes. Monitor the overall health and safety of all children, reporting signs of illness, injury, or abuse, while serving as an "in-ratio" staff to uphold DCFS standards. Develop positive relationships with parents and teachers through conferences and meetings, and assist in maintaining National Accreditation and complying with all licensing requirements. Work 5 hours daily during school terms and 8 hours during summer or holidays, contingent upon funding.
Required Qualifications
- 45 hours of college courses with at least 6 hours in child development or related field
- 30 hours of college courses with 9 hours in child development/related field plus at least 1560 clock hours verifiable of experience in working with children
- Associate's Degree
- Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish)
- Physical constraints required include lifting and carrying children and other items weighing up to 50 pounds
