Job Summary
Part-time School Age Educators and Supervisors needed in Sarnia for Licensed School Age Program positions. Plan and deliver a consistent child-centered program for elementary-age children in accordance with YMCA curriculum; provide quality compassionate care and family support; ensure supervision and safety at all times; adhere to provincial and YMCA policies; promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and core YMCA values; environment includes mornings (6:45–9:00) and afternoons (2:30–6:00) with potential additional full-day shifts on PD days. Start Aug 25, 2025 through June 26, 2026 with compensation ranging by region and qualifications (CA$22-$27 per hour for members; non-members up to CA$22). Requires experience with children 4-12, ECE diploma/registration, First Aid/CPR, Vulnerable Sector Check, immunizations, and eligibility to work in Canada. Schedule aligns with elementary school calendar; travel within reasonable proximity to a family of schools; AI screening may be used in recruitment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children 4-12 years in work or school placement setting is an asset
- Plans to enrol or holds a diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is an asset
- CECE registration in good standing or in process
- Related field association membership as required for graduates
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C or scheduled training within 3 months
- Minimum age 18 for Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check
- Up-to-date immunizations as required by public health and YMCA
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg (44 lbs), bend and stoop
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
