Job Summary
Provide personal care to children, including toileting, diaper changing, first aid, and administering medication while monitoring dietary needs and allergies. Actively engage with children in groups of up to 15 to ensure supervision and safety during play-based learning aligned with the YMCA Curriculum. Maintain positive communication with families, staff, and volunteers while supporting inclusive environments for children with exceptional behaviors or additional needs. Adhere to the Monday to Friday schedule of 26.25 hours per week, split between 7:00–9:00 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m., with flexibility required for routine changes and outdoor activities in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Current Standard/Intermediate First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification OR completion of certification within first 90 days of employment
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act
- Availability requirements: Monday to Friday, 26.25 hours per week, with split shifts approximately 7:00-9:00 a.m. and 3:00–6:00 p.m. on all school instructional days (September to June)
- Registered Early Childhood Educator *Must be registered and a member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or be willing to obtain registration

- Rec & Leisure Diploma
- Bachelor of Education *must be registered with the Ontario College of Teachers to be eligible
