Job Summary
Oversees YMCA Before and After School Care Program sites, manages staffing, licensing compliance, and program quality; supervises BASE site staff; monitors budgets; ensures MSDE licensing requirements; coordinates with Childcare Director 2, Education Manager, Licensing Coordinator; develops and delivers high-quality after-school programming; leads staff development and performance reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Requires a 4-year college degree or Associate Degree plus relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a director of a licensed child care program, or similar setting such as public or private school or a parks/recreation program
- Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience directly supervising full time and part time staff
- Experience with site management and administrative duties
- Must have exceptional work ethic and strength of character
- Requires strong communication skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, proven history of strong leadership, and exceptional skills in conflict management and resolution
- Must have demonstrated through previous experience superior ability to manage time, multi-task and organize his/her work, and train/supervise staff effectively
