Job Summary
Conduct afternoon after-school childcare coverage from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at Lee F. Jackson Elementary School, maintaining safe, engaged, and fun environments for children ages 5–12. Manage daily operations including ensuring full staffing, accurate record-keeping for compliance, and restocking classroom supplies before they run out. Encourage children's curiosity and creativity while supporting student growth through play and positive experiences. Maintain a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor with families and teammates. This part-time role aligns with the school calendar and offers employer-paid childcare for enrolled children.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or its equivalent; and two years of direct experience working with children under 13 years of age
- A School-age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period, and one year of experience working with children less than 13 years of age
- Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or a related field
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for afternoon program hours (3:00 - 6:00 pm)
- Must follow the school calendar schedule
