Job Summary
Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum, including fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and group sessions alongside homework completion. Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment while acting as a positive role model for children in the program. Observe state guidelines, program policies, and school regulations. Support program operations by managing attendance records, registration, and staffing. This part-time role at AJ Smith Elementary School runs from 2:30 to 6:00 pm during the 2026–2027 school year. Employer-paid childcare is available for enrolled children ages 5–12.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Two years of college with 18 credits in a related field plus 2 years of experience working with children under 13, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- NY State Children's Program Administrator Credential plus 2 years of relevant experience
- School-Age Child Care Credential or equivalent office-recognized credential plus 2 years of relevant experience
- Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children throughout the day
