Job Summary
Looking for part-time activities assistants and group leaders to work in school-age childcare. Responsibilities include supervising children, facilitating activities, and ensuring a safe environment. Activities assistants require 1 year of experience with children and must be at least 16 years old. Group leaders require a high school diploma/GED and 2 years of experience working with children under 13. Additional qualifications include maintaining 30 hours of childcare-related training every 2 years and passing a TB test. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old (with valid NYS working papers for minors)
- 1 year experience working with children
- HS Diploma/GED
- 2 years experience working with children under 13
- Maintain 30 hours of childcare-related training every 2 years
- Tuberculosis (TB) Test and physician’s clearance to work in childcare
- Basic computer skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community
- Child Abuse Prevention (Supervisory Staff), CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens trainings (completed within 30 days of hire)
