Required Qualifications

• •High school diploma
• •G.E.D. Certificate
• •Demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D.
• •Experience working with children in an organized setting
• •Knowledge of safe practices in classroom and playground activities
• •Knowledge of interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
• •Knowledge of basic record-keeping techniques
• •Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• •Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
• •Ability to learn child guidance principles and practices
• •Ability to communicate and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and staff, both orally and in writing
• •Ability to print and write legibly
• •Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• •Ability to learn procedures, functions and limitations of assigned duties
• •Ability to monitor, observe and report student's behavior according to approval policies and procedures
• •Ability to learn and apply safety procedures and regulations
• •Ability to administer first aid and medications according to established policies and procedures
• •Ability to perform a broad variety of health services for students
• •Ability to assist students with personal hygiene needs: toileting, diapering, feeding, etc.
• •Ability to monitor students on a one-to-one basis, in small groups or in large groups to ensure their safety
• •Ability to follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of students
• •Ability to assist the on-site director, classroom teacher or other responsible staff members in planning various activities for the students
• •Ability to assist with organizing materials for conducting special training activities
• •Ability to promote positive parent and child interactions and activities
• •Ability to participate in staff activities and in special training programs
